Photodynamic therapy is an FDA approved way of treating actinic keratoses (“precancers”). It involves applying a medication in the office (AMELUZ® ) and allowing it to incubate before applying a bright red light (BF-RhodoLED®*) for 10 minutes. It is successful and well tolerated by most patients, but does require staying out of the sun for 48 hours afterwards. Dr. Pruden is a Kentucky native originally from Henderson county, Kentucky. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed surgery internship at the University of Tennessee in Memphis as well as four years of residency training in Otolaryngology (Ear nose and throat specialist)/Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Kentucky.
